Debate 🇱🇻 Latvia

Latvia's interior ministry says decriminalising drug use may go to parliament

A senior official, Jānis Bekmanis, said a proposal to decriminalise drug use might soon reach the Saeima, and that the justice ministry was examining whether criminal liability for use deters anyone. The ministry's own position he called extremely cautious. That summer the government moved drug policy from the interior ministry to the health ministry.[1][2]
