Government sets an end-2026 target for a Narcotics Law rewrite

The government said on 9 October 2026 that it would speed up a revision of the Narcotics and Psychotropics laws, mainly to separate drug users from dealers and to expand rehabilitation. The bill was still with parliament and the government was preparing its response; no new narcotics law had been passed. The article described rehabilitation and the user/dealer distinction, not cannabis legalisation.[1]
