The Ellice Islands' Dangerous Drugs Ordinance takes effect
The colonial ordinance for the Gilbert and Ellice Islands, in force from 20 October 1948, controlled Indian hemp alongside raw opium and coca leaf. It is still in Tuvalu's consolidated laws.
