People convicted of drug production or trafficking that generated a financial benefit became subject to extended asset confiscation. Assets disproportionate to lawful income are presumed to come from crime unless the offender makes a lawful origin plausible. The amendment widened an existing confiscation regime to these drug offences.[1]
