Canada's Federal Court strikes down the one-patient limit on designated growers

In Sfetkopoulos, the Federal Court declared paragraph 41(b.1) of the medical-access regulations invalid under section 7 of the Charter. The rule prevented a designated grower from holding more than one production licence. The court set aside refusals of applications naming a common producer and returned them to the minister for reconsideration; it did not abolish medical licensing or legalise recreational cultivation.[1]
