Cannabis companies reach the big American stock exchanges

Canopy Growth, founded in Ontario in 2013 as Tweed, began trading on the New York Stock Exchange, the first cannabis producer there. In July Tilray, another Canadian licensed producer, became the first cannabis company to go public on a major US exchange, opening on Nasdaq at 17 dollars a share; the price reached 214 dollars in September and had fallen to 29 by August 2019.[1][2]
