From 1 March 2025, a Victorian driver who tested positive for THC could argue in court that a prescribed medicinal cannabis product had not impaired them, and a magistrate could decide not to cancel the licence. Driving with THC remained an offence, and impaired driving stayed a separate charge. The change covered patients with a valid prescription and left Victoria's closed-road trial running.[1][2]
