The Soviet government set how money from confiscated opium, hashish, cocaine and morphine was divided between the border guards, the secret police and the people who tipped them off. Hashish was listed among the drugs Soviet customs seized, five years after Armenia became a Soviet republic. The decree applied across the USSR, including Armenia.[1]
