Venezuela passes its organic drug law

The Organic Law on Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances of 1984 was Venezuela's first important drug legislation. A paper presented in Buenos Aires in 2009 says that before 1984 Venezuela had made no important legislative change in this area, despite the 1961 Single Convention coming into force.
