Debate 🇬🇧 United Kingdom

UK government rejects the London commission's decriminalisation call

Asked whether it would review decriminalisation abroad, the government answered that it has no plans to commission such a review and no plans to change the law, citing clear scientific evidence of the harms of cannabis. The 2025 London Drugs Commission had urged removing natural cannabis from the Misuse of Drugs Act so that holding a small amount for personal use would no longer be a crime.[1][2]
