On 6 November 2023 President Kais Saied met the interior minister, the national guard commander and the director general of national security and called for more patrols and a tougher fight against drugs. The meeting followed similar remarks on 26 October. Lawyers later linked the instructions to the arrest wave of 2024.[1]
