Tunisia's parliament takes up a full rewrite of Law 52

In April 2025 the general legislation committee received a 40-article private member's bill to replace the core of Law 52. It would repeal Articles 4–8, 11 and 18, raise fines and separate use, possession and trafficking; it had been tabled in February 2025. The committee began hearing witnesses in 2026 and had not voted by October 2026.[1][2]
