A year after refusing a repressive course, the Swiss turned down the opposite one. The initiative "for a sensible drug policy", launched by the Working Group for Drug Legalisation and backed by the Greens and Social Democrats, won 26% of the vote and no canton, on a turnout of 38.4%. Government and parliament had opposed it; the Swiss vote archive calls the result a clear no to decriminalising hard drugs.[1]
