Sri Lanka certifies revised prohibitions on hemp and other drugs

Act 13 of 1984 replaced sections 28 and 29 of the drugs ordinance, expressly covering preparations of hemp in import and export prohibitions and revising controls on possession, preparation, supply and use, subject to statutory exceptions. It was certified on 11 April; operation required a ministerial Gazette order. It did not introduce the exception for lawful hemp extracts and tinctures: that provision already appears in section 30 of the 1956 revised ordinance.[1][2]
