Réunion's 2021 drug survey finds home-grown zamal losing ground

The French drug observatory's 2021 survey found cannabis production local and small-scale, built on acquaintance networks, with no resin processing on the island — resin arrived imported by post or by air mules.[1] Local zamal quality had declined for a decade while its price rose from about €0.50 to €5 a gram, and imported skunk at €10 a gram was filling the gap.[1] Many residents wrongly believed one or two plants for personal use were legal.[1]
