The Philippines restores capital punishment for major drug offences
Republic Act 7659 made 750 g or more of marijuana subject to reclusion perpetua to death and fines of ₱500,000–10 million. The same range applied to cultivation and other prohibited-drug offences when the Act's quantity rules were met.
