The United Nations puts Paraguay's crop at 5,900 tonnes a year

A UN report named Mexico and Paraguay as the world's largest producers of cannabis and estimated Paraguay's output at 5,900 tonnes a year. Its red soil was said to yield about three tonnes a hectare, with more than one harvest a year on some plots. Most of it is pressed into bricks for the neighbouring countries.[1]
