British rule ends and Palestine's drug law splits in two

The British Mandate ended on 14 May 1948. Jordan took control of the West Bank and Egypt took control of Gaza; Jordan's 1955 Dangerous Drugs Law replaced the 1936 Palestinian ordinance in the West Bank, and Gaza received a separate narcotics law in 1962. Those two statutes set the legal split that still shapes cannabis enforcement.[1][2][3]
