Oman's prosecutors count 6,741 drug cases over two years

The Public Prosecution said 6,741 drug cases were recorded in Oman between 2023 and 2024, with 2024 higher than 2023. Its spokesman named hashish, shabu, heroin and painkillers as the most common drugs and said international networks used social media to recruit young people. The figures cover all drugs, not cannabis alone, and no arrest or conviction breakdown was published.[1]
