The new federal code set prison sentences of up to five years for planting, cultivating, trading, possessing, buying, selling or supplying prohibited seeds and plants, and expressly listed marijuana. It consolidated criminalisation already established by the 1926 sanitary code and the 1929 penal code, so it does not create a separate index step.[1]
