Malaysia opens a medical cannabis register but approves nothing

In a written parliamentary reply in March 2025, the Health Ministry said parties with sufficient scientific evidence could submit cannabis-based products for registration with the Drug Control Authority. The ministry announced no approved product and did not change the ban on recreational use. Its published advice records that no cannabis medicine is registered; Sativex was registered in 2014 and cancelled in 2017.[1][2]
