Tightening 🇲🇾 Malaysia

British Military Administration bans opium across Malaya

Opium and Chandu Proclamation No. 49, published on 24 January 1946, prohibited the sale and use of opium and chandu except for medical purposes and required possessors to surrender opium, pipes and utensils within fourteen days. It was the first territory-wide drug prohibition in Malaya. Cannabis was already banned by state ganja enactments and was later folded into the 1952 Dangerous Drugs Ordinance.[1][2]
