Liechtenstein extends treatment-based deferral of drug sentences

Courts could defer a fine or a prison sentence no longer than five years for a dependence-related drug offence while the person undertook rehabilitation, with probation lasting one–five years. The amendment also allowed remission of the remaining sentence after half had been served where treatment offered a prospect of success. It took effect on publication.[1]
