Debate 🇭🇳 Honduras

A Honduran commission drafts a replacement for the 1989 drug law

The draft handed to President Porfirio Lobo included a provision for shooting down aircraft carrying drugs. Under the 1989 law a first offence of possession for use brings up to thirty days in a rehabilitation centre and a fine of 500 to 1,000 lempiras, a second thirty to ninety days, and a third internment until the person is judged reintegrated; no state centre exists, so the rule is not applied. The law sets no quantity: the judge decides what is personal use.[1]
