Easing 🇸🇻 El Salvador

El Salvador's top court exempts own-use possession

The Constitutional Chamber held that possession for one's own use is outside criminal punishment, and that Article 34's under-2 g and 2 g-or-more bands must be read that way. Weight is one factor, not a rule by itself. Prison remains when the drugs were meant for trafficking, cultivation, processing or promoting use, and holding less than 2 g is still a crime when that purpose is proved.[1]
