The finance minister told Parliament that 75 per cent of 513 consultation participants across 17 sessions supported the medicinal-cannabis proposal. A taskforce was set up in August 2023, a policy framework was approved in February 2024, and Cabinet approved drafting in December 2024, but no bill had been introduced by July 2026.[1]
