Ecuador rewrites its personal-use rule without bringing back thresholds

The National Solidarity Law, proposed by President Noboa and passed with 84 votes, reformed Article 228 of the criminal code to separate use from trafficking. The fixed amounts removed in November 2023, 10 g for marijuana, did not return: the health ministry, the judiciary council and the prosecutor's office are to set the criteria by joint resolution. Meanwhile judges decide case by case.[1]
