Northern Mariana Islands’ crop raids shift cannabis supply toward imports

A federal drug assessment linked the decline of local cannabis growing in 2000–2001 to eradication campaigns and a greater reliance on supplies from the Philippines and Palau. It reported a sharp rise in retail prices and said local cultivation was largely confined to small amounts for personal use. Officers were focusing on undercover purchases and border interception; adult use remained prohibited until 2018.[1]
