Northern Mariana Islands adopt rules to start licensing cannabis businesses

The cannabis commission approved emergency rules for producers, retailers, processors, wholesalers and lounges, preparing the industry for business applications. Its chair linked the accelerated timetable to the COVID-19 revenue shortfall and economic diversification. The commission reserved medical, laboratory and edible-processing rules for later work; it began accepting applications that August.[1][2]
