Tightening 🇧🇬 Bulgaria

Bulgaria narrows cannabis licences to research and hemp to fibre and seed

An amendment to the drug control act took effect. Health ministry licences for Schedule I substances, cannabis among them, were limited to medical research where the law had said medical purposes, and the hemp licence was confined to fibre and seed, which made other hemp products unlawful. Hemp growers had asked for clear rules on processing; a definition drafted by a parliamentary working group was dropped after a letter from the customs service was read out. The Academy of Sciences had supported the growers.[1]
