The Road Safety and Transport Rules and Regulations 2026 took effect on 1 July 2026, replacing the 2021 regulations. They retain standard drug-testing kits and a testing procedure, and allow licence suspension and reinstatement after drug-impaired driving, but set no THC cutoff. The drug-driving offence remains impairment-based under the 1999 Act.[1]
