A Belgian textile maker plants fibre hemp at Jáuregui

Julio Steverlynck began growing fibre hemp at Jáuregui, Buenos Aires, to feed his linen mills: 6 hectares at first, 200 by the late 1950s and 300 to 400 by 1970. Production stopped in 1976, a year after his death. In the 1970s young visitors came for the low-THC crop, which barely intoxicated.[1]
