Argentina adopts a narcotics regulatory law expressly listing cannabis

Law 17,818 established a nationwide regulatory framework aligned with the Single Convention. Its annex lists cannabis, resin, extracts and tinctures, while Article 3 restricts Convention List IV substances to quantities strictly necessary for supervised medical and scientific research, including clinical experiments. This entry records adoption on 29 July, distinct from the official register's 8 August publication date and the separate Penal Code reform.[1]
