Ukraine orders releases for specified cannabis-growing convictions

Parliament ordered release from punishment for people convicted of ordinary prohibited cultivation, or its repeat-offence form, when it adopted the drug-law implementation resolution on 15 February 1995.[1] Pending cases in those categories were to be closed, including cases whose sentences were not yet final or being served.[1] The new law gave ordinary first cultivation an administrative fine and confiscation, while retaining criminal penalties for repetition and aggravated growing.[2] The resolution expressly excluded specified other cultivation convictions from release.[1]
