From 28 March 2024, courts could impose probation supervision for ordinary criminal possession without intent to sell and ordinary unlawful cannabis growing, replacing arrest in those sentencing lists.[1][2] Probation could last up to five years for possession and three years for cultivation, with reporting duties and restrictions on leaving Ukraine; fines and restriction of liberty remained options.[1] The change formed part of a wider sentencing reform that also ordered replacement of unserved arrest sentences in arrest houses.[1]
