Malawi allows licensed growing of its local chamba

Parliament passed the Cannabis Regulation (Amendment) Bill on 28 March 2024 to facilitate regulation of a locally produced variety of cannabis. MP Peter Dimba presented it. The Leader of the House said that growing chamba without a licence or being found in possession of it remains an offence, and that passing the Bill does not legalise smoking. Presidential assent was not confirmed in the sources read.[1][2][3]
