Easing 🇹🇷 Türkiye

Türkiye cuts personal drug-use sentences to one to two years

Drug use and possession for use carried one to two years in prison, replacing the 1953 term of three to five years.[1][2] A person who sought treatment from the authorities before an investigation began was protected from prosecution for use; hospital confinement remained for people considered dependent.[1] The amendment took effect on publication on 14 June.[1]
