Easing 🇹🇷 Türkiye

Türkiye abolishes internal exile, including for cannabis offences

The sentencing law abolished internal-exile penalties in the criminal code and special laws.[1] This removed an additional punishment imposed on repeat drug users and people convicted of cannabis supply under the 1953 rules, while the separate prison and capital clauses remained.[1][2] The repeal took effect on publication on 16 July.[1]
