Thai police warn couriers after 4.5 tonnes seized abroad

Thai police warned travellers after 4.5 tonnes of cannabis said to have come from Thailand were seized in Hong Kong, Indonesia and Poland: 23 kg in Hong Kong, 3.37 tonnes in Indonesia and 1.2 tonnes hidden in construction bricks in Poland. The force said couriers could face life imprisonment or the death penalty abroad, although Thailand itself has no death penalty for cannabis. The warning came as Thai customs reported tens of tonnes of cannabis seized from export routes.[1][2]
