Sri Lanka approves a cannabis cultivation pilot

An expert committee approved a pilot project to grow cannabis inside the Board of Investment zone at Katunayake, State Minister of Investment Promotion Dilum Amunugama said. The government was still looking for an investor and for experts to draft rules; the next day the minister said a dedicated growing and export-processing zone was under discussion. The pilot was for export and did not legalise domestic sale or use.[1][2]
