Only ten MPs backed putting Goran Čabradi’s medical-cannabis bill on the parliamentary agenda, while 149 did not vote. Čabradi argued that seriously ill people should be able to obtain treatment openly and avoid the illicit market. The bill had been submitted in June 2017, after patients’ groups and a ministry committee had proposed different routes to cannabis treatment.[1][2][3]
