Saudi Arabia codifies its modern anti-narcotics law
Royal Decree M/39 created the present framework. Personal possession or use carries six months to two years in prison; supply carries long terms, and importing, exporting, manufacturing or receiving drugs for distribution can be punished by death. Cannabis is a prohibited plant.
