Law No. 7 of 23 February 1956 gave San Marino a narcotics law built on the 1931 limitation convention. A 1973 United States survey reported that its drug list did not name cannabis but pointed to other decrees that probably covered it; illicit possession, use, import, export or trafficking drew three to eight years in prison plus a fine.[1] A 1988 narcotics law confirmed the statute's identity by annulling part of its article 6.[2]
