Law 16 of 2023, published in the official gazette on 9 January 2024, took effect the next day. It replaced references to the Ministry of Municipality in the 1987 drug law and rewrote article 18 to allow paper or electronic prescriptions, with the Ministry of Public Health setting the conditions. It did not change drug penalties or the schedules.[1][2]
