Elai Aiseia, 40, was charged in August 2024 with unlawful possession and sale of prohibited drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana after police searched his Uliga home. The search followed a driving-under-the-influence arrest in May, when the driver told police he had bought crack cocaine from Aiseia. Officers found marijuana in bags and containers, methamphetamine, crack and $1,109 in cash. The Marshall Islands Journal said it was the first drug prosecution in more than 18 months.[1]
