Marshall Islands reports suspended jail term for a personal cannabis import

A January newspaper report described a six-month suspended sentence and a $1,000 fine for Gandhi Heine after he pleaded guilty to importing marijuana. His lawyer said the cannabis was for personal use to relieve back pain.[1] Chief Justice Carl Ingram approved the plea agreement, which included probation conditions restricting travel outside Majuro.[1]
