Two amendments to the 2011 Drugs Act changed the administration of drug treatment. The first, gazetted on 28 October 2015, altered the membership of the National Drug Control Council; the second, gazetted on 2 December 2015, changed how accused people are assessed and how treatment centres are run, inserting new sections into the Act. The penalties for use, possession and trafficking stayed the same.[1][2][3]
