Kuwait hanged three men in April 2013 and two more in June, the first executions since 2007. All five were convicted of murder or rape; no drug offender was among them. The hangings ended a de facto moratorium that had lasted since 2007, in a country whose drug law already allowed death for trafficking.[1][2][3]
