Italy approves Sativex for multiple sclerosis spasticity

The medicines agency AIFA authorised the mouth spray Sativex for adults with moderate to severe muscle stiffness from multiple sclerosis that other drugs had not controlled, if they improved during a trial period. Only hospital centres or neurologists could prescribe it, with a new prescription each time. The approval took effect on 1 May 2013.[1][2]
