Four months after the Constitutional Court ruled out any punishment for consuming cannabis, parliament restricted it to people aged 21 or over, at home. Use in public, at work, in schools or in front of children brings a fine of 800 to 1,500 lari, and doctors, teachers and public servants can be barred from their professions. A plan in the same package to license cannabis production for export was withdrawn after opposition from the Orthodox Church.[1]
